You Mean the World to Me - Kelly Bates

Hello friends! Today I’m sharing a sweet and simple card perfect to to send to a loved one you might not be able to see just yet, so let’s get into it!

Paper Rose Products used: White Smooth Cardstock, Small Drops stencil, Honeysuckle Circle die, Stitched Circle dies, So Extra White 1.0 supporting sentiments, Pool, Grass, Lime and Lemon Ink, Blending Brush

Other products used: die cutting machine, yellow cardstock panel measuring 10cm x 14.3cm, iridescent sequins, liquid glue, foam tape, finger dauber, white gel pen

Technique: I scored and folded a sheet of the White smooth cardstock in half and set aside. I then cut another piece of the cardstock to 9.5cm x 13.8cm and die cut the honeysuckle die from the centre. I centred my die cut panel onto the yellow panel and marked lightly with a pencil where the opening was. I then cut outside the pencil marks with one of the circle dies and glued the 2 layers together. I then laid that panel onto my card base, and again, marked where the opening was. I created a square area masked off with post it tape and ink blended Pool from the top right, then Lime from the bottom left and blended them in the centre. I laid my Small Drops stencil over top and added a very light layer of Grass ink through it just over the Lime coloured area. I then set the card base aside to dry completely. Going back to the die cut panel, I used a finger dauber to use Grass and Lemon inks to colour in the leaves and flowers of the Honeysuckle using the post it tape to mask the edges. Once everything had dried I used foam tape to pop up the die cut panel and centred it over the card, added the sentiment, added details with my white gel pen and finished by gluing down a few iridescent sequins.
