Wedding Blooms Congratulations - Kelly Bates

Hiya friends! I think I may have gotten slightly addicted to playing around with the Wedding Blooms collection these last few weeks, and here’s my first project using it. Today I’m sharing a fun fold card; a Side Step Card. You may remember I created a 5×7 version of this card style awhile ago but this time I wanted to go compact, so this is A2 version. Let’s get started shall we?

Here’s the template I used: https://www.pinterest.com.au/pin/254171972712827923/

I followed the above template to create my card base using a navy blue cardstock. I then measured 4mm in on each side of the front panel, then measured that onto blue patterned paper from the Wedding Bloom textures 6×6 Paper Collection and cut it out using my paper trimmer. I then glued it into place on the front of my card. I did the same process on the steps of the card using papers from the Wedding Blooms Basics 6×6 Paper Collection. I then cut out the sentiment from the Wedding Blooms 6×6 Paper Collection and backed it with a piece of the navy cardstock and glued it into place.

From there, it was decoration time! I used the rings image from the Wedding Blooms Embossed Die Cuts pack and glued it to the back step. I die cut a bunch of the Little Leaf Stems from the Textures paper collection mentioned above. I fussy cut the flowers from a couple of the larger images in the Wedding Blooms Cut Aparts pack (as I knew I wouldn’t use the images as is) and assembled as shown above.

To finish, I added a rectangle of Smooth White cardstock inside the card measuring 6.8cm x 10.5cm.

I love how this one turned out, the blue and tan colour combo is always a favourite for me! See you again soon – Kelly.
