Valentine's Love - Miriam Chessum
Hello crafty friends, thank you for visiting my card corner once again. I really appreciate you being here. I am delighted to be back with another design team card for Paper Rose Studio.
Well Valentine’s Day is right upon us and today’s card is all about love. Even if you choose not to celebrate Valentine’s Day, this basis of this card can be used in many different ways.
I started the card by cutting and scoring the red cardstock to create a card base that measures 4.25 x 5.5 inches. Then I die cut panel of white Neenah 80lb cardstock using the Pierced Rectangle Dies. On this white panel, I ink blended a small amount of Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Ink.
I then stamped the elephant from the Elephant & Friend stamp set using Memento Tuxedo Black ink. The elephant that appears on the left has been reverse stamped. To do this, I use a piece of silicone mat. I pace this mat into my Misti Stamping Tool, having removed all the mats from inside the Misti. I then stamp the image onto the silicone mat. Very gently I lay a piece of cardstock on top and add a small amount of pressure. I t is important not to press to hard or to wiggle the cardstock, otherwise the image will blur and smudge.
I then went on to colour the elephant images with Copic markers. For these elephants I used W4, W3, W1, W0, W00 and R30. Once dry, I add white gel pend to the cheeks and then fussy cut the images. After this, I moved on to the sentiment. I dye cut the love sentiment from the Big Love You die three times. I then adhered them together with my favourite Liquid Glue from Paper Rose Studios. I placed a heavy acrylic block on top until dry. I then die cut the hearts in red cardstock using the Heart Confetti Circle die.
I adhered the elephants with foam tape, added the love sentiment and finally glued the hearts in place.
This completes today’s card. I love this card and I hope it will inspire you be creative soon.
Thanks again for visiting……
