Unicorn Card - Kelly Bates

Hello friends, today I’m sharing a new goodie from Paper Rose, the Waves stencil. I flipped it over though to make it into a rainbow pattern to go with my fave PR stamp set, so come on through and check it out!
To recreate the card, you’ll need the following Paper Rose Goodies:
You’ll also need these:
  • Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 80lb and 110lb,
  • Bristol Smooth Cardstock,
  • Inks in Pink Champagne, Sangria, Hot Tub and Orange Peel,
  • Versafine Onyx black ink,
  • Versamark ink, Wow Metallic Rich Gold Superfine embossing powder plus heat tool
  • vellum,
  • gold foil cardstock,
  • water brush,
  • gold shimmer pen
  • foam tape, liquid glue
Technique: I attached a 10.5 x 14cm 80lb Neenah panel to my stencil using washi tape Using a Paper Rose blending brush, I covered the top half in Pink Champagne, and the bottom in Sangria, making sure to blend these well in the middle to give an ombre look and set this aside to dry.
I then stamped the background using the little stars stamp in the Unicorn Magic set with versamark ink, covered those in gold embossing powder and heat set the panel.
I then stamped my unicorn image in Versafine onyx black and set it aside to dry completely before using the 4 Catherine Pooler ink colours to colour her using my water brush.
I die cut the happy birthday sentiment from gold foil cardstock, and the background layer from vellum and glued those together.
I popped up the unicorn using foam tape and finished by giving the unicorn some shimmer on her horn and hooves with my gold shimmer pen.
