Tufted Elegance Cards - Donna Lewis
Hello crafty friends. I have a pair of cards to share with you today, that coincide with university cranking up for second semester. My apologies in advance if I get a little quiet over the next several weeks. As you might have realised, I’ve fallen in love with the combination of Shimmer Cardstock and 3D Embossing folders, so I have more for you.
There is a video of the making process.
These cards use the Tufted Elegance 3D embossing folder from Paper Rose Studio. I decided that, unlike some previous cards where I’ve used this embossing folder in the background, I wanted to really let it shine today. For the first card, I ran the shimmer card through my die cutting machine with the folder, then added sentiments and some Clear Crystals. Can you spot the mistake in this card? I didn’t see it until I was editing the photos!
For the second card, I wanted to try out some new dies that I thought would match well with the embossing. I used two sizes of the Vintage Label 2 Cutting die, cutting the front panel before I used the embossing folder. (Otherwise it would just flatten again)The butterfly for this card is an embossed beauty from the Rainbow Butterfly embossed diecuts. I also made a text background for the card base using the aptly named text background stamp!
So, I’m off to do some study – translating Australian Welfare scenarios into Japanese to be precise! I hope you have enjoyed these cards, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
Blessings,
Donna
