Three Weddings & A Birthday - Donna Lewis

Hi crafty friends.
Its Donna here and I have a set of four cards to share with you today. (They may involve an impulse buy right before I move country again!) They’ll be suitable for three weddings, and a birthday. Along the way we’ll look at a few different things to think about when constructing different types of shaker cards, and how to (literally) stretch your dies for different shaped cards. The hero of all the cards is the Cake Die from Paper Rose Studio, and I’ve used it four different ways. Don’t be fooled by the soft colours I used. These same techniques would make fabulous bright cards.
I have just finished fighting my computer and edited the footage. My poor computer battery is dying and the computer needs to lie down for about an hour after each 20 minutes’ editing. Rather frustrating, but I’m happy with the final video and I hope you enjoy it too!
The first three cards have the same coral colours, as I coloured the card myself by swiping inks across it. I made two different shaker cards, one using the negative and one using the positive cake that I cut from it. I’ve tried to link the colours I used and the other supplies below, linking to different countries where I can.
I also used some of the new Shimmer Cardstock from Paper Rose Studio in Blooming Blossoms and Stormy Seas to create this great tall rainbow cake for a slimline card. The last thing I need to be buying before an international move is more cardstock, but I couldn’t help myself on this one!
I love the very different looks and different techniques that I was able to try with these cards, and one of them has found a home already!
Until next time, may your days be full of celebrations.
Blessings,
Donna
