Rainbow Wreath Card - Donna Lewis
Hello my crafty friends. Boy, have I been on an adventure since I last blogged. As you probably know, we’re living in Japan at the moment, and one of our bucket list items was to see Hokkaido, the most northern island of Japan. We booked an 11 day visit with accomodation and a hire car, and off we went!!! The holiday didn’t turn out exactly as planned! It’s a long story, which I’ve attempted to tell in the video, in between the card making information. But this is not a sad and sorry tales blog, it’s about cardmaking, so let’s have a look at the card! I adore this one, and am particularly grateful for how well it posed for the photos!

You can see the making of the card, and hear my tale of woe in the video below!
To make this card, I used the Moira Flower Die from Paper Rose Studio, and a rainbow of papers – I used 14 different colours in all. I cut two flowers from each of the colours, one larger and one smaller. I then moved the smaller flowers along the line by one flower, so that each flower has a centre that is the colour of the flower next to it. I glued these together and added some sequins. Because the sequins are translucent, I could get away with host three colours of sequin for the whole rainbow.
Next, I used the Spring Bloom die to cut some white leaves. I glued these to the backs of almost all the flowers. More or less leaves would have been fine. I used one of Paper Rose Studio’s Square card bases. I’ll send the card in a matching envelope. I used a small dish from my kitchen to draw a circle in pencil onto the card base. The circle was smaller than my wreath, but it was enough information to help me keep my circle more circl-ey! I popped up all the flowers with foam tape, facing the leaves in different directions.
The sentiments come from the Rainbow Poppies Sentiment Sheet, as well as the All Occasions Sentiments. I cut the ends at angle and tucked these into the left side of the wreath.
This card makes me so happy, and I love the dimension of the wreath. I think there may be more wreath cards on the horizon! Until next time, stay safe, stay sane, and I’ll be back soon!
Blessings
