Nature Stroll Cards - Donna Lewis

Hello crafty friends. I hope that you are doing well, and staying safe. I’ve brought you flowers!
I have a set of three cards for you today. I’ve been playing with the Nature Stroll papers from Paper Rose. I’m working with the 6 x 6″ inch pad, but this design is also available as a 12 x 12″ set as well for the scrapbookers.
If you’d like to see the making process, there is a video (music only, no chat) on the Paper Rose YouTube channel, or you can watch it here.

I also have an alphabet stamp set that I was really keen to try out. It’s called Outline Alphabet, and it cuts each letter double, with a thin letter and an outline. By cutting these once from white paper and once from the patterned papers, I was able to get two sentiments that were the reverse of each other, as you can see in the two pictures below.
Both cards have additional sentiments cut from one of the papers in the pack. The card below has generous spatters of white gouache mixed with water.
I decided that I wanted to make at least one card where the sentiment sat up in relief from the rest of the background. Then ensued a two day search of my brain for the name of that type of card. Finally, it floated back past and I grabbed it – eclipse card! I wrote it down immediately in case it swam back off again – I really must use English more, or I’ll have lost it entirely when I go back to Australia! Fine Script Happy Birthday is the name of the die I used, and I layered up black, then three layers of green, then the original patterned paper on top. The darker layers underneath help the words stand out, especially from the side.
None of these cards was very time consuming to make, and I’ve barely touched that paper pack, so I can make a stack more! I think that a set of notecards made from this paper would be a great gift for the nature lovers in my life!
Until next time, stay safe, and may you have a chance to stroll. If you’d like to see more of my cards, feel free to visit my Instagram feed here.
Blessings,
