Miss You Card - Donna Lewis

Miss You – (Welcome to 2020!)

I think I might have start making cards with this sentiment exclusively. I miss my friends! I miss my family too. I’ve been missing them for much longer, as I live in another country to them, but to have friends living just around the corner and not be able to see them is so very perplexing! I’m sure you all know what I mean.

For this card, I used the Sketchy Handpicked Bouquet from Paper Rose Studio for my main image, and stamped it with Memento Tuxedo Black Ink.This glass jar is absolutely brimming with lovely flowers. Whenever I see lots of flowers like this, I can tend to get too busy with the colours, so even though you can see from the picture that I used a LOT of Copic markers, I was very mindful to keep a limited colour palette

Once I had coloured the image, I carefully cut around it with small scissors, as I wanted to add a textured background. This background was made using the Hud Stencil, and white texture paste. I then cut the background panel to slightly smaller than my card, and used foam tape to add some dimension to the jar of flowers.

The sentiment is from the Black and White Sentiments strips, also from Paper Rose. I’m using so many of these lately, and I love the clean white sentiments on black, – far neater than I could achieve myself with embossing powder. The card base is a colour that I just can’t stop using lately – Lawn Fawn’s Sage Leaf. Once everything was stuck down, the card was complete, and ready to send to a friend that lives literally walking distance away!

I hope that you are all safe and well, and that you aren’t missing too many people in your life at the moment.

Until next time,

Blessings,

Donna
