Little Village Cards - Donna Lewis

Hello crafty friends. I have a set of 10 cards for you today. I’ve been slowly and steadily working my way through the Operation Write Home Sketches by Sandy Allnock, and this is the third in the series so far. I’m using the cutest little Paper Pack called Little Village from Paper Rose Studio.
IMPORTANT NOTE: this card series using this paper pack has a part B coming. I’ve saved one piece of the apple tree paper for this, so if you’re making along, you might like to do the same!
As always, I have created a video of the making process, which you can find below. You can also find the first two videos in the series here and here.
I have listed all the supplies that I’ve used at the bottom, so I think I’ll just take a moment to briefly share the general process, since the video gives all the details. I used sketches 21 through 30, and for each of the cards I chose a background plain card stock that would coordinate with the paper that I chose as my feature paper. For each of the elements in the card sketch, I’ve added a background of about 2mm, or 1/16″ around the sides. I’ve added dimension by adding layers of scrap paper behind some of the pieces. There is always a lot of extra paper left over when making this type of cards!
The sentiments have been kept very small for the most part, because I wanted the cute paper designs to shine. Most of them come from the Rainbow Poppies sentiments sheets. I’m finding them perfect for every single card I make at the moment – kind of like when you get a new shirt – suddenly it’s the only thing you can find to wear!
You can see what a difference the background papers make. Three of the cards above use the same lavender design paper, but they end up looking completely different.
Finally, a look at the beautiful pile of cards that were made. Don’t they look great swirled out like that?
Until next time, please look after yourselves and those around you. I hope that you are finding the time to do what restores your souls.
Blessings,
Donna
