Inky Colour Cards - Donna Lewis

Hello crafty friends. I’m so happy to have had a whole day in my craft room today. It’s school holidays, so although I still have my own study to do for university, I didn’t do any teaching today (I teach high school as a relief teacher), which has allowed me the freedom of a day at home. Here’s what I spent it doing!
These cards are all based on two products that I had out on my desk as the first I wanted to use when I got the chance. They are the gorgeous 3D embossing folder from Paper Rose called Leafy Garden, and the fun Embossed die cuts from the Inky Colour collection. Isn’t it funny that we’ve ended up with two different meanings for embossing both on the same cards? I used my stitched rectangle dies to make some layered frames for these first fun images. One frame sits behind and one in front of the embossed panel.
This next card is for the minimalists! Just one small corner of the card has the action, although the embossing still stretches over the whole card. I didn’t have an exact colour of cardstock for my border, so I used a Copic marker to colour one!
For the last card, I added some blue ink to the Embossing Folder before I added the paper and embossed. This is actually the second sheet of card that I used with the inked folder – the first pass came out much brighter, and was a little too busy for the bold images, for my taste, anyway.
I hope you’ve enjoyed these fun cards. I did video the process and will continue to work on editing little by little, as my studies allow! Until next time, may your days be as full of whimsy as these cards.
Blessings,
Donna
