Ink Blended Duo - Donna Lewis

Hello crafty friends. I’ve been inkblending. Not without a story of course! I managed to come to Australia without any inkblending tools in my suitcase! When I looked through what I’d put away in Australia, I found an ink blending tool, and one solitary sponge end. So, while we were in Perth recently, I went crafty shopping with my dad (who will be my partner in crime for any and every adventure – crafty or not!) and bought some more sponges. I then drove the 3600km home. So today, I can bring you cards with more than one colour on them!
The colours I used were Faded Jeans, Seedless Preserves and Abandoned Coral, all in Distress Oxide inks. I really wanted to do a tone on tone card, with the image sort of fading into the background. I blended the colours so that they would overlap and make extra colours between. In all, I blended three panels, two for backgrounds, and one to squeeze the images onto.
The stamp set that I chose for today is called Sketchy Florals Thanks. I used both the stamp set and the matching dies for today’s cards, stamping and embossing with Gold Embossing Powder. I also stamped one of the sentiments from the stamp set in the same way. For the second card, I used a sentiment from a new to me set called Bright Days Ahead Embossed Sentiments. The writing is slightly raised, and really shiny.
These were fairly quick cards to make, as I’d just done the 3600km when I made them, but as my craft space gets more organised, I’m looking forward to having more time to play. Until next time, stay safe.
blessings,
Donna
