Hello crafty friends. I’ve been playing with hexagons and have made three cards to share with you. Each of them uses hexagons as an integral part of the design.

For this first card, I stamped the Thanks a Bunch stamp onto a piece of white card. I then cut three different hexagons from this image and coloured just the portion of the image that was on the hexagons. I used these stitched hexagons for all the cards in today’s post.

When constructing the card, I used foam tape to pop the hexagons up higher than the remainder of the background.

For this second card, I taped two hexagon dies together neatly and ran them through my die cutting machine with gold glitter cardstock to make a frame for my window. I added some packaging behind the window and then added foam tape to give the hexagon some height for the shaker element before adding a mix of sequins.

To make the background panel, I first blended three colours of ink, and then added spatters of perfect pearls and gold paint for interest. I cut the ‘hello’ in gold and black and slightly offset them to give a shadow to the word.

Finally, I cut three hexagons from a cardstock panel. I used a sentiment from the Thanks a Bunch stamp set. I cut the stamp in half with scissors to stack the words instead of having them in a line, so they would fit into the small hexagon. I can easily put them back together next time I use them in one line. Finally, at the bottom, I have used one small image from the Blossom Flowers stamp to layer over the bottom hexagon. I a little gold cardstock behind the panel completed this final card.
