Gum Leaves Happy Birthday - Kelly Bates
Hello friends! A sweet and simple birthday card to share with you today, using the recently released Gum Leaves die set so let’s get into it!
Paper Rose Products used: Stitched Rectangle Nesting Dies, Gum Leaves 5 Dies, Hand Stitching 2 Embossing Folder, Daisy White Shimmer Cardstock, Smooth White Cardstock, Big Sentiments 1.0 Sentiment Sheets, Grass Ink, Liquid Glue
Other products used: Die cutting machine, paper trimmer, foam tape, blending tools, metal embellishments.
Technique: Using my paper trimmer I cut 2 pieces of Smooth White Cardstock out measuring 10cm x 11cm, and a panel using the largest Stitched Rectangle die. With one of the small panels, I used Grass ink directly on the paper to give it a deep colour. On the other small piece, I used a domed blending foam with the Grass ink to give it a lighter colour. I also used my blending foam to go around the edges of the large background panel with the Grass ink as well, going slightly more heavy handed and set all these aside to dry. I used the second largest Stitched Rectangle Die to cut a panel from the Daisy White Shimmer Cardstock, placed that into my Hand Stitching 2 embossing folder and ran that through my die cut machine. I then cut my leaves bases from the darker green panel, my outline pieces from the lighter green and assembled those together. I glued my embossed panel to my background panel and attached those to my card base. I then glued and foam mounted the leaves and sentiment and finished by adding 3 metal embellishments in the bottom right corner.
