G'Day Mate - Kelly Bates
Hello friends! Today I’m sharing an Australian themed card using one of the newer paper packs released by Paper Rose, the Grunge Textures pack, which was designed by Kasia Leach. I’m a huge fan of grungy textures, it’s one of my favourite things to photograph when I’m out and about with my camera so when I saw this paper pack, I just had to buy it! Come on through to see all the details.
To recreate this card you’ll need the following Paper Rose goodies:
You’ll also need these supplies:
Neenah Classic Crest Solar White 110lb card base
White cardstock,
Bronze Foil cardstock
Acetate
Distress Ink in Weathered Wood
Grey Ribbon
Sequins
White cardstock,
Bronze Foil cardstock
Acetate
Distress Ink in Weathered Wood
Grey Ribbon
Sequins
Technique:
I cut a panel of one of the Grunge Textures Paper to 10.5cm x 14cm, and attached it to some thin plain white cardstock using a light touch of liquid glue. I then die cut the Australia map from this piece, and dirtied it up a little more around the edges using the Weathered Wood distress ink. Once dried, I added the ribbon detail to the left.
I then flipped the piece over, covered the map area in acetate and then using doubled over foam tape, made a border of where I wanted the sequins to go. I made a mix of my own sequins, popped them in and using second sheet of the Grunge Textures paper cut to approximately 10.2cm x 13.8cm, sealed it all up. I mounted this to my Neenah card base using strong liquid glue.
I die cut the ‘g’day’ and ‘mate’ sentiments from the bronze foil cardstock and attached those on the front of the card as shown.
