Celebrate with Pansies - Karen McKibbin

Hello everyone.
I’ve got a fairly simple card for you today. I started this one by die cutting the pansies and leaves from white cardstock. I used a finger dauber and a small stencil brush to apply the Distress Oxide inks to the flowers and leaves. For the centers of the flowers, I used a yellow Copic marker. I shaped the main flower piece by crimping and folding the petals along the fold lines, before using a round ball stylus to push down the centers to get the raised effect. I glued the centers in place and added the extra petals also with glue.
For the background, I die cut the centre piece of the Leaf Burst Rectangle die set four times and mounted these on two extra pieces of white cardstock to get some dimension. I cut two of them to fit on my A2 sized card. Using Shaded Lilac Distress Oxide ink, I covered my card front with ink. I then attached the Leaf Burst rectangles, alternating where the ends were placed. I then used glue dots to attach the flowers and some glue for the leaves.

The sentiment was cut three times and glued together. I inked the top layer with the Shaded Lilac ink before embossing it with VersaMark ink and clear embossing powder. I repeated the heat embossing three times to get a really glossy sentiment. I used glue to adhere the sentiment to the card front, and finally added a few white pearls.
