Baby Mini Album - Kelly Bates
Hello friends! Welcome to September (already??). Today I’m sharing a mini album project using the gorgeous Sweet Nursery 12 x 12 paper collection so lets get started!
Paper Rose Products used: Sweet Nursery 12 x 12 paper collection, Banners 2 Die Set, Alphabet 1” Dies, Liquid Glue.
Other products used: 2 12 x 12 sheets of kraft cardstock, paper trimmer, foam tape, ribbon, twine.
Technique:
For the inside album: I created a mini album by cutting four kraft cardstock strips 3.75” x 12” and scoring each at the 4” and 8” mark. From one of the strips, I cut it down to be just a slither under 8” on the long side. I then folded each strip with one mountain and one valley. I glued each of the strips together to create a very long accordion piece. From there I started to the left with a valley fold, then glued along the bottom and inside mountain piece and joined it to the next valley and continued that along the whole strip. In the end I had 3 pockets and two end flaps.
For the cover: I cut a piece of kraft cardstock that measured 4” x 9.75” which I scored at the 4.5” and 5” mark. I burnished the score lines before using a piece of ribbon attached with tape and glue to wrap around the centre of the cover panel.
I then glued my album into the cover and sat something heavy on it for approximately 4hrs.
To decorate: I used a strip of patterned paper for the cover which measured 8.5” x 3.5” and glued that into place. I fussy cut the giraffe and branch from the cut apart sheet included in the paper collection and then die cut the letters of her name from the kraft cardstock using the 1” Alphabet dies. I decorated each page inside the album with a piece of patterned paper measuring 3.5” x 3.25”. I printed photos of my daughter from her first year (with permission) in sepia tones to match the card. I finished each page using the sentiments included with the cut apart pages. I created a couple of little pocked for the front and back cover, as well as 2 tags for extra information from the banners 2 die set.
